1. What is a single station desktop tablet press?

Single station tablet press, also known as single punch tablet press, is a simple mechanical machine that can be used to compress powder into tablets with uniform size, shape and weight.The single station tablet press uses a single station with a die and a pair of upper and lower punches.The machine is used for small batch production of tablets, widely used in cosmetics, medicines and cleaning products.

2. Operation of single station tablet press

In this single station tablet press, the tablets are made by compressing the powder in a single mold with a punch or punch.In the former case, the tablets are made one at a time. In the latter case, tablets can be produced in small-scale production, usually at the rate of 5000 tablets per hour.

3. Basic components of single punch tablet press machine

• Hopper: It holds the particles and powder to be compressed. Powder and granular materials fall from the hopper into the mold under the action of gravity.
• Mold: The bottom of the mold is formed by a lower punch, and the upper punch drops onto the loose powder and compresses the powder.
• Upper and lower punches: The upper punches provide the compression force to combine the powder particles into tablets. The lower punch serves as the base of the mold and is raised at the end of the compression phase to eject the tablets from the mold.Cam track: A mechanical gear that guides the movement of two punches.Capacity regulator: It adjusts the depth of loose powder in the mold by adjusting the depth of the lower punch.
• Jet regulator: it adjusts the lower punch to rise at the end of compression, and the punch is flush with the mold surface, so that the finished tablets are swept into the collection container.
• Drive wheel: it guides the movement of the upper and lower punches and the hopper.

Attention:The force to compress the tablets is applied only by the upper punch, while the lower punch remains stationary during compression.Powder material compacted by the pressure applied between the moving upper punch and the fixed lower punch.The shape of the tablet depends on the shape of the mold cavity.

4. How does the single station tablet press work?

The single station tablet press produces tablets through the following steps:

• Filling: the upper cam pulls the upper punch out of the mold, and the lower punch is lower in the mold cavity, so the powder falls from the hopper and fills the cavity made of the mold and the lower punch. Then adjust the lower punch to the required material weight, and when it is lifted, the excess powder will be ejected from the mold.
• Compression: The lower punch remains stationary, and the upper punch drops into the mold to compress the powder into tablets.
• Ejection: then, the upper punch exits and the lower punch pushes upward to take the shaped tablets out of the mold. The tablet is then removed from the mold surface.

Then, repeat the cycle for the next batch.The single station tablet press is adjusted to suit the type of tablet, the material, the compression and the required material capacity for each tablet.

5. Maintenance knowledge of single punch pill pressing machine

(1) The user must manually test and press the tablets before and after the single punching tablet machine works, and then turn on the electric press when there is no problem.

(2) Pay attention to cleaning after use.If the single station tablet press is out of service for a long time, the mold must be removed, and the working surface of the equipment must be wiped clean, coated with anti rust oil, cleaned and immersed in oil for storage.

(3) Lubricate the friction surfaces of moving parts to ensure the normal operation of the machine and prolong its service life.

(4) Check parts regularly.Before each work, check whether the screws are loose, and always pay attention to check during the work.If the screws are loose, tighten them immediately to avoid failure.

(5) During the tablet pressing process, the operator must always check the quality of the die.If there are missing edges, cracks, deformation, etc., they should be replaced in time to avoid failure, damage to the machine and affecting the quality of tablets
